The word “resume” comes from the French language and is usually a summary of a work or publication. In the resume, it means a summary of the most important findings and conclusions that the author has made in his examination or a brief content of the work. Usually it is used for bachelor, diploma or seminar work.
Our tip: We will not write a summary for you, but we can help you and format the entire bachelor / master thesis for you.
1. What is a resume?
We have already explained what the resume is in English, but it is also necessary to look at its practical use. The summary is actually something like the end of the work, where all the important aspects and elements of your whole work are taken into account. It explains the issue, the conclusion of your research, the methods used, etc., which led to these conclusions, and there should also be scope for communicating the benefits to the issue.
The summary is always written in the language in which the whole work is done. If you write your bachelor’s / master’s thesis in English, the resume will be in English, but it should be a resume in English. If you do not know how to translate, do not translate the resume through various web compilers, but rather contact the translator directly.
Our next tip: We will not write a summary for you, but we can translate it into English or German.
2. Resume length and its position at work
How long the resume should be, depends on you. The exact length is not specified, but the sentences should be short, clear and understandable. It is not recommended to use longer, complex sentences. About 150 to 300 words should suffice for the bachelor thesis, at least two or three times more, for example 300 to 450 words, for larger works (eg diploma theses) and publications.
The summary at the end of the whole work is only because it is a summary. Therefore, it should not appear anywhere else, because it contains information that is mentioned in the theoretical and practical part of the thesis.
3. What to avoid
Be sure to avoid long and extended sentences and expressing personal feelings when writing a resume. This does not belong to the resume. Also, don’t try to describe and characterize your conclusions in a complicated way, but always give clear and obvious information. The résumé also does not include pictures, tables, charts, quotes.
Do not exceed the recommended range of words or characters. It may happen that your university / school will have a predetermined number of words it must contain. There is certainly a need to stick to this assignment. Similarly, it is not enough even to write a summary in two sentences, which will definitely not be clear what is needed in the summary to communicate.
